The 12′ 6″ Hobie Elite Race Board

The latest in the evolution of 12-6 racing stand up paddleboards “The 12-6 Hobie Elite”. The Hobie Elite design was a direct result from the Battle of the Paddle 2009. Feedback from all of our elite racers from the event helped us in developing a board that paddles fast is extremely stable in the chop, turns easy and that surfs really well for a 12-6 race board. Utilizing the latest in high tech materials the Poly Carbon Epoxy construction “PCX” creates a board that is light weight, extremely durable and stiff for speed.

 Hobie’s PFX construction combines Fiberglass and a Polypropylene fiber, the lightest, toughest fiber available, sandwiched in between two layers of fiberglass and laminated with Epoxy resins over a light weight EPS core.
This micro sandwich composite delivers superior toughness and stiffness in a composite while reducing weight and increasing performance.
